10 Torr Distilling & Brewing sits on Mill Street in Reno, in a single-location operation that combines a distillery, a brewery, and a public taproom under one roof. The "10 Torr" name comes from the vacuum pressure at which they distill — a process that runs at a lower temperature than conventional pot or column distillation.
Where it is
490 Mill Street, south of the East 4th brewery district. Closer to the Mill Street corridor than the brewery row, but still walkable from downtown.
What they make
Vacuum-distilled spirits including gin, vodka, and rotating small-batch runs. They also brew beer on site — both sides are open to the public via the taproom. It's one of the few Reno producers doing distillation and brewing under the same roof.
Why the vacuum thing matters
Vacuum distillation isn't common at this scale in the US. Small enough operations to use the technique are rarer still. Most American distilleries either chase mass-production efficiency or stay strictly traditional artisan-craft. 10 Torr sits between those: small enough to experiment, technical enough to do unusual processes.
